Poems, violins and other silly things.

Hi y'all. I felt left out of the whole blogging thing so I decided to succumb to peer pressure and join the dark side of blog addicted computer nerds... And all you cool people who just happen to have or read blogs. Hmmm... soooo... Where does one start? Am I supposed to write all the random shit in my head and hope you find it as interesting as I do? Or perhaps I should fill you in on everything that happens in my extraordinarily dull life and hope that there is something in there to interest or amuse you? As I said before: Hmmm... I may as well start with the title.

I have a shocking announcement to make... I write poetry. I'm sorry if I have offended anybody with this brash statement but I really had to get it off my chest. I also am quite an avid reader of poetry. I am currently working my way through "Top 500 Poems" according to William Harmon (whoever the hell he is). To prove that I do write my own poetry I'll add a poem of mine to this post so you can see how truly terrible it is. I'll give you my first real attempt at poetry.

Big Easy

You sit below the sea
in the comforting
shadow of your levees.

You watch as the
clouds form on the
horizon, saying

“it won’t happen to us.”

You bask beside the river
with only the
levees to protect you.

And you are told
that Katrina
veers towards you.

And it dawns on you
as you sun yourselves
on your porches,

“if we got hit we’d go under.”

And still you are surprised
how easy the big
city sinks.

It's a tad pretentious and wanky but hey... It's about hurricane Katrina for those of you who hadn't already figured that out...

So, violins... Well for those of you who do'nt know me (though if your reading this then you probably do) I play the violin. I'm in an orchestra with Kelda (woot woot orchestra buddies!). And thats pretty much all I heve to say about violins today... Sorry its terribly unsatisfactory I know but meh, c'est la vie as the french say!

So that leaves other silly things... And really the possibilities are endless!! I could talk about silly music, school, and rubber chickens. Or perhaps I could mention old English songs about farting, George Bush and the National Party... No today I will tell you about the website my sister found today...

Perhaps some background info is needed... My sister, who is 21, has a bit of a soft spot for... How to put this... Toilet humour... My theory is she was a bit of a prude when she was younger and now she's making up for lost... rudeness... Anyway today I was out filming my media studies project when Charlotte and I bumped into my sister. She told us of a great website she found: www.dotfart.com... and it is exactly what it says. a dot that farts when you click on it! this juvenile humour may be beneath some of you... in which case, I pity you... But I heartily suggest you visit this amazing site!!

Well thats probably enough for one sitting. More soon.

Au revoir!

Hello Laurence,

I suggest you turn your poem into a piece of music, perhaps a song?

Also, how many farts are there in the dot?
