I'm back! And I'm using a different font... I think I might cycle through them each post... Might liven up my terribly dull life...
Well I may as well live up to the title of my blog, so here is a poem for you. It's not one of mine this time but a pretty little love poem. I seem to be quite into love poetry at the moment... can't think why...
A Red, Red Rose
O my Love’s like a red, red rose,
That’s newly sprung in June:
O my Love’s like a melodie
That’s sweetly played in tune!
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in love am I;
And I will love thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only Love,
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my Love,
Though it were ten thousand mile.
Robert Burns (1759–1796)
Nice isn't it?
I had coffee with Alex today. Then we walked home. Sounds quite normal, perhaps some people would find it boring, but it was, as it is with most of the things I do with Alex, a very enjoyable experience... Why is that? OK I enjoy her company and she is beautiful and just generally fabulous... But that still does not adequitely explain why I find the most mundane experiences suddenly very enjoyable as soon as I share them with Alex...
To quote Whitesnake, "Is this love, that I'm feeling?"
Which leads me to another point. Why are we so scared of that one little word: love. It is but four letters that mean a feeling of intense liking, for want of a better word. I think we are scared of using it because we think it commits us to something that is supposed to last forever. Well I hate to break it to all you idealistic people out there but love does not necessarily mean that. Undying love does but that is something completely different... If you love somebody then you like them very much, are attracted to them and some say there is some sort of "x" factor involved. You can, in my opinion, love someone for different periods of time - short, long, forever etc. You can love many people in your life. I suppose it could even be possible to love more than one person at one time. Love begins and sometimes it ends. But after one love ends it is entierly possible to fall in love again. So I think there is no reason to be scared of love. I think we should not be scared of saying it. In fact perhaps open discussion of love would be a good thing...
Do not get me wrong, I am not belittling love. I believe it is the strongest human feeling. I believe it is something to cherish and celebrate. When I say that I love Alexandra, I mean it. And I do love Alex. More than I love anything else. And I do not wish that our love will die! On the contrary. But I wish people would get over their fear of love. If you love someone, tell them. Don't be afraid to say "I love you."
That is my self important rant of the day.
Hasta pronto, mi amigos.

Love-ly rant.. (Im so funny)
I agree =D... I do think that for all love's good things it leaves you open to a lot. By saying you love someone you open yourself up to be hurt and to hurt them. It's a risky business..... but it's worth it....
Caitylin xx
